The Bureau Of Qatar Standards is concerned in assuring ensuring that products fulfill standards that commodities in Qatar provide the level of satisfaction that consumers desire. They not only focus on locally produced items, but, they also inspect imported goods to ensure they satisfy basic standards. The was established by Decree 15 of 2002 to regulate and control the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, chemicals, medical devices and packaged water.
تهتم هيئة المواصفات والمقاييس القطرية بضمان استيفاء المنتجات للمعايير وأن توفر السلع في عُمان مستوى الرضا الذي يرغب فيه المستهلكون. ولا تركز الهيئة فقط على المنتجات المنتجة محليًا، بل إنها تقوم أيضًا بفحص السلع المستوردة للتأكد من استيفائها للمعايير الأساسية. وقد تم تأسيسها بموجب المرسوم رقم 15 لسنة 2002 لتنظيم ومراقبة تصنيع واستيراد وتصدير وتوزيع وإعلان وبيع واستخدام الأغذية والأدوية ومستحضرات التجميل والمواد الكيميائية والأجهزة الطبية والمياه المعبأة.
